- The first British prices for Samsung S95F OLED have appeared
- 55- and 65-inch prices listed for John Lewis
- Revealed to be more expensive than rival LG G5 at the launch but it won’t last
The first British awards for Samsung S95F OLED TV, the company’s flagship from 2025, has been seen, and it is more expensive than its closest rival, the LG G5 OLED.
Listed on John Lewis’ site is prices for 55-inch and 65-inch S95F models. 55-inch costs £ 2,499 and 65-inch costs £ 3,399. Although this is roughly what we expected based on American pricing (which was released earlier in April), it means that S95F is £ 100 more than the LG G5, one of the best OLED TVs in 2025, in these two sizes in the UK. The prices were first spotted by what hi-fi?.
John Lewis currently shows no prices for 77 and 83-inch S95F models, but there is a strong chance that these will also be more than the LG G5 equivalents.
The John Lewis lists appear to be extremely early as no expected delivery date has been mentioned. Right now we have surpassed dates for March and April, we have come to expect in the last few years from Samsung and LG.
Interestingly, Samsung’s S95F price fixing is the opposite case in the US, where it undermines the LG G5 by approx. $ 1-200 in both 55 and 65-inch models.
We have seen the Samsung S95F personally and are impressed with its improved OLED glare free 2.0 screen, which maintains better black levels than its predecessor. We were also blown up by the bright and detailed image of the 83-inch model using LG Display’s ‘Fire-Stack’ panel. From our first impression, it has a chance to take on some of the best TVs this year.
The LG G5 will still be a tough act to beat as it earned five out of five stars in our LG G5 review, cementing itself as one of 2025’s best TVs. It is interesting that Samsung decided to take different pricing methods on different sides of the pond, but this situation will not last long.
Let the War War begin
The LG G5 and Samsung S95F are probably two of this year’s top -tvs, both fighting for the title Best Oled. They are not only two of the most functional TVs on the market, but are probably also two of the best prices (although Sony’s staggering new Bravia 8 II OLED could have something to say about it).
The LG G5 may be cheaper in the UK in the 55 and 65 inch models compared to the Samsung S95F for now (we will wait to see what the 77 and 83-inch sizes bring), but over the past few years Samsung and LG have been locked in years of pricing that is fighting to be the fire that offers the best Bang for your buck. Each time a sales event is on, whether it is Black Friday or Prime Day, you can guarantee The two brands cut the prices of their most popular sets.
Ever since the release, there has been a fall in the LG C4, LG’s Mid-Range OLED 2024, and when that happens, you can be almost sure that Samsung S90D (Samsung’s middle class OLED) gets a similar price slop. Both brands hope that consumers choose them in the ongoing bidding war.
Is this probably the case with Samsung S95F and LG G5? You are betting. I would not be surprised if these original launch prices fall within the next month or so, and that the two end up with identical price. Either way, it’s good news for consumers. Let these prices fall!
