- Mass production may have started on the next Galaxy Foldables
- We expect a launch event once in July
- Z -Flip 7 is possibly the only model that gets a battery -Boost
We expect the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 to arrive in July, and a few fresh rumors suggest that the launches are planned – but only one of these foldable will have a battery upgrade this year.
First up, Tipster @pandaflashpro (via Sammobile) says that mass production has now started on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, as previously predicted. It fits well with a launch date within the next few months.
Secondly, the tech views (via Sammobile again) have revealed certifications for these foldable phones that give away their battery sizes: 4,400 mAh for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 (matches Galaxy Z Fold 6) and 4,300 mAh for Galaxy Z Flip 7 (up from 4,000 mAh battery in Galaxy Z Flip 6).
Changes in battery capacity do not always correspond to changes in battery life of course, but the indications are that the Galaxy Z-FLIP 7 will last longer between charges, while the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will again offer 10-11 hours of battery life (based on our extensive Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 review).
Here’s what’s coming
Of course, we’ve heard lots of rumors around these two folded flagships already. When it comes to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, there has been improved dust resistance and a larger 200MP camera upgrade. Its processor is expected to be the Snapdragon 8 elite, and we have also seen unofficial reproductions of the device.
As for the Galaxy Z Flip 7, it seems that it will get a full-size tire screen, just as Motorola Razr phones that would certainly be a welcome improvement. A battery life Boost has also been mentioned in previous leaks, where other tipsters agree that the 4,300 mAh will be the capacity of the 2025 model.
There may also be an interesting VRI with regard to the software here: The word is that the phones could come up with a UI 8 (based on Android 16), although a UI 7 (based on Android 15) has just made it to most of the Galaxy hand set.
If Samsung holds another unpacked launch event sometime in July, it should be quite a show. In addition to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, we also expect to see a new tri-fold device, the Galaxy Watch 8 models and maybe Galaxy Ring 2.
