- More details of Galaxy Tri-Fold are leaked
- Expect NFC payments, wireless charging and vice versa charging
- It is likely to use an Infold -Form factor
Samsung gave us a brief glimpse of his Tri-Fold-Smartphone all the way back in January at the Galaxy S25 launch, but we are still waiting for it to see the day’s light and meanwhile, a fresh leak has given us an idea of what’s coming.
Tipster @techhighest (via Sammobile) has revealed three animations relating to Tri-Fold, which we assume are buried somewhere in the One Ui Software, although there is no clear indication of where these are taken from.
The animations appear to confirm that – like the previous rumor – this will use the infectious form factor, which means the main display will be folded in from the sides, with a separate screen on the other side that can be used when the phone is closed.
We also look at three features: NFC payments, wireless charging and vice versa wireless charging (so you can charge small gadgets like earplugs on the back of the phone). Everyone expected a lot and on all Samsung’s recent flagship phones, but it’s worth noting.
What we think we know
In addition to the short twinkle in January, Samsung has not said too much about what comes with this tri-fold. However, it has gone on a record to say that the device is still on the way and will be available to buy before the end of the year.
According to a tipster, the phone will soon break the cover and is called the Galaxy Z Trifold – which would of course be a nod to the other foldable Samsung Makes, most recently Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7.
Other leaks that have emerged from Samsung’s One UI software ahead of Tri-Fold’s launch include one that shows an upgraded multitasking interface to make use of the larger screen, and one shows how the three panels fit together.
It seems that Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset will be on board, surprising, although charging speeds may be pretty nonspectacular. And if you are considering making a purchase, you are likely to need deep pockets.
