In 2025, the Federal Police Security Department provided comprehensive security for 14 sessions of the National Assembly, 15 meetings of the Senate, three joint sessions of Parliament, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) tournament and 969 national and international conferences and major events.

For this purpose, around 6,000 subordinate officers and personnel from the security department, the traffic police, the special department and the operational police were continuously deployed for security duties at various times.

According to a police report, foolproof security was also provided during the arrival and departure of 19 international VVIP delegations this year, including foreign cricket teams. To increase the security of Chinese nationals living in the federal capital and ensure rapid emergency response, a “panic alarm system” was introduced in the control room of the special protection unit.

Separate and specialized security arrangements were put in place for key government buildings, embassies, diplomats and prominent national and international personalities in the federal capital.

Several reforms and initiatives were implemented in the security division during 2025. Under the “Good Luck Policy”, Naka Serena was upgraded in accordance with modern security requirements to further strengthen and increase efficiency.

An electrified fence system was activated along the entire perimeter wall of the diplomatic enclave. In addition, modern ANPR cameras were installed at entry points to facilitate automated vehicle identification.

Open conferences were held with embassy security officers to discuss new security reforms and address challenges facing diplomatic missions. Integrated and effective security measures were also implemented to maintain law and order in the Red Zone and the Extended Red Zone.

Following the establishment of the Police Service Center “Kaskade”, 2,652 diplomats made use of federal police services during the year, while 7,044 diplomats made use of services for issuing, renewing and learner’s licenses.

In record promotions this year, officers in the security division were promoted to higher ranks and formally awarded their new insignia. To honor the services of Islamabad Police veterans, “Ghazi Week” was observed where Ghazis were invited and presented with gifts as a token of appreciation and encouragement.

During the Green Pakistan campaign, tree plantation drives were conducted in the diplomatic enclave with the active participation of the police and the local community.

DIG Security Muhammad Atiq Tahir said Islamabad Police Security Division is taking robust measures to ensure foolproof security of diplomats, national and international delegations, important personalities and sensitive installations.
