We expect Potensic Atom to be the best DJI drone -alternative to most beginner, and now its successor has been announced -Potensic Atom 2. It offers a number of new features without apparently breaking new reason, but in general it is a Polished upgrade and becomes the most obvious DJI Mini 4K rival.
Heading features include gimbal-stabilized 4K video with the possibility of detailed HDR output, vertical video that has been improved to social, 48MP set images, AI subject tracking, plus improved transmission area and stability of up to 10 km, with full HD / 30p Live View and just 120 milliseconds of latency.
With Atom 2, Potensic has also introduced its first after -sales care, including Easy Device Exchanges and Professional Assistance, though we are not sure if this service is available with other models. This kind of customer support should give peace of mind if you should run into problems with atom 2.
Atom 2 Standard Bundle costs $ 329, while the fly more combination with additional batteries and charging HUB costs $ 449 – we update this page when we get British and Australia pricing. It is a small mark compared to the atom launched at $ 299 / $ 399.
DJI’s biggest drone -rival (for beginners) just got better
We evaluate the DJI Mini 4K as the best drone for beginners, while the Mini 4 Pro is the best money-no-object option for first-time pilots. However, uncertainty about the prospect of a DJI drone ban in the United States remains, and as such, any viable alternative will probably get plenty of attention. Cue Potensic Atom 2.
On paper, atom 2 looks like a refined upgrade. There are no major upgrades that stand out, but under-the-250G drone seems to be refined in many areas and certainly looks like viable DJI Mini 4K rival.
It is equipped with a 12MP 1/2-inch Sony CMOS sensor, a lighter new F/1.8 lens along with a 48MP stills output and a new HDR video mode. Potensic says an upcoming firmware update is also on the way, and it will introduce its first log video recording option. Log Video Color Profiles are flat and make sure you can get the most detailed details from your drone’s hardware, even if you need to edit them to get the look you want.
Other features include an AI follow-up feature that automatically tracks items to keep them in the middle of the frame, while AI night mode “catches clear and vivid images” in lowlight scenarios, “Potensic says. There is also a Dolly Zoom mode that Potensic “enables users to create cinematic shoots with only a single press, as well as panoramic photography features that allow users to effortlessly capture expansive landscapes”.
We are not sure when the Atom 2 Sales Start Date is, nor do we have our hands on a Potensic Atom 2 for testing yet. We will be sure to update you on both fronts as the situation changes and end our expert review over time.
