- Logitech G has revealed the Logitech G522 LightSpeed
- This wireless game headset can boast of an impressive feature set and a fantastic microphone
- It strikes paid tribute on June 16 for $ 179 / £ 139.99 / AU $ 299.95
Gaming Accessory Brand Logitech G has announced the Logitech G522 Lightspeed, a new wireless game headset designed to replace the popular Logitech G733 Lightspeed.
The G522 LightSpeed has redesigned ear cups with a wider shape and an added layer of memory foam for improved comfort. It has a lightweight, adjustable fabric strap that now rests flatter than its predecessor and has built -in combs for better cooling.
The exterior of each ear cup has four eye-catching customized RGB lighting zones, which can be fine-tuned to the color of your choice in the Logitech G Hub Desktop software. It is also compatible with the Logitech G mobile app.
Under the cap, the Headset Logitech G’s highest faith packs 40 mm Pro-G drivers with 24-bit / 48 kHz signal treatment for improved sound clarity and details.
The headset comes the bundle with a removable omnidirectional microphone that offers an impressive 16-bit / 48 kHz bandwidth. It is the same microphone found in the excellent but much more expensive, Astro A50 X, which impressed with its crystal clear recordings in my practical test.
On the Logitech G522 Lightspeed, the microphone has the added advantage of a built-in red LED indicator that lights when it is muted.
As the name suggests, the headset can connect to PC or PlayStation 5 via Logitech’s Lightspeed Wireless Dongle (which is included in the box), but also supports traditional Bluetooth for the aforementioned platforms beyond the Nintendo Switch and Mobile. There is also the possibility of wired games via its USB Type-C connector.
Logitech claims up to 40 hours of battery life with the standard lighting of or up to 90 hours with it disabled, which is a rather impressive figure. These are not quite the up to 200 hours promised by the competing Hyperx Cloud III’s, but it is still more than enough juice in a few weeks of worth of intense game sessions.
Logitech G522 Lightspeed hits the shelves on June 16 in white or black color roads. It costs $ 179 / £ 139.99 / AU $ 299.95, which puts it in the middle price bracket.
Its expansive function kit seems very promising, but only time shows whether it will be one of the best PC game heads or best PS5 headsets around.
