The night agent season 2 is almost here—and to celebrate its upcoming launch, Netflix has released its first five minutes early.
Two years after the spy thriller series became the latest TV Original to enjoy blockbuster status on Netflix, its second season is set to debut on the streaming giant on Thursday (January 23). Understandably, the excitement is growing ahead The night agents return, and in an effort to capitalize on growing fan joy, Netflix has dropped an extended look at the season 2 premiere’s opening sequence.
Unfortunately, you cannot view the footage on YouTube or any other social media platform such as Instagram or X/Twitter. You can actually only watch it via Netflix’s in-house Tudum website, which is… a choice. I think Netflix needs to get people to visit the site somehow!

The video itself is about eight minutes long, but considering the first three recap events from The night agents debut season, they’re worth skipping if you’re in a hurry to check out the first scene from its follow-up chapter.
So what do The night agent Reveal season 2’s first few minutes? Spoilers follow for episode 1’s opening sequenceso come back now if you don’t want to know anything (you’ve opened this article, mind you, so you clearly want to know something about it!).
The episode opens in Bangkok, Thailand, where Gabriel Basso’s Peter Sutherland appears to be enjoying a date with none other than Luciane Buchanan’s Rose. Hold your horses though, folks, because he’s not actually romantically involved with anyone else. Instead, he’s undercover with Brittany Snow’s Alice, his new Night Agent Program mentor, as the pair follows someone of interest to them.
Not surprisingly, things go wrong not long after that. After the duo split up to follow different people, Peter gets more than he bargained for when he is ambushed in a quiet alley. After firing some warning shots from his now-not-so-hidden side arm, he is forced to flee as Alice desperately tries to locate and save him.
When is The Night Agent season 2 coming out on Netflix?
We won’t know what happens to Peter and Alice in season 2 of one of the best Netflix shows for a few more days. In fact, just as things start to get interesting from a plot point of view, the extended cut of season 2 ends.
Fear not though, dear reader. As I mentioned earlier, The night agent‘s second season lands on the world’s best streaming service on January 23rd, so we won’t have to wait long to see how Peter and Alice get out of this mess. You’ll be able to watch it as soon as Wednesday gives way to Thursday (at least on the US Pacific coast), with The night agent season 2’s release time is confirmed to be at 12pm PT / 3am ET / 8am GMT / 6pm AEST. I bet you spy some time away from work to see it in full on launch day too.
