- The now bar has been seen in a Galaxy A06 5G leakage
- It suggests that cheaper and older handsets get the function
- The now bar shows live information on the lock screen
One of our favorite features of a UI 7 (it’s Samsung’s acquisition of Android 15) is the now bar – a lock screen for live updates – and it seems that Samsung is planning to roll the feature beyond its flagship smartphones.
We have already seen the now bar at the Samsung Galaxy S25 and in Beta form on the Samsung Galaxy S24, but the team at Sammobile has found proof that it is also on its way to the more affordable Samsung Galaxy A06 5G.
This comes through leaked specifications and promotional material for the affordable handset that mentions it now bore as one of the upgrades. This will be the follow-up to the Galaxy A06 LTE phone launched last year.
It is reassuring for those with budget or midrange Samsung phones: Galaxy A06 5G is expected to be an input level handset, so if it can manage to show it now carried on screen, most current and future Samsung devices should also be able the.
A UI 7 and older phones
The now Bar borrows some of the ideas introduced by the dynamic island on iOS, which also shows information such as live sports results, deliveries about deliveries and more – all you might want constant, real -time updates about.
It joins a number of other new features introduced with a UI 7, including AI-driven writing aid, improved security protection and a design overhaul that introduces a more modern and more responsive interface.
Although the now bar seems to be set to all Galaxy hand sets in line for a UI 7, the same cannot be said for everything else. The now short feature that uses AI to surface useful information as you need it when no older handsets (via Gsmarena).
Then there is the question of a UI 7 itself that rolls out more far. All future Galaxy phones, including the Galaxy A06 5G, should come with the software on board – but if you got a handset launched before 2025, you could wait a while.
