Oscar-winning director Christopher Nolan has shared his opinion on the controversial film’s rate proposal.
Nolan, who is the newly elected president of the Directors Guild of America, commented on the matter while laying out priorities for the company.
The President of the United States has proposed a 100% tax on films made outside America.
“I don’t know how a tariff system would work”, it said Oppenheimer director.
While talking to Black, the 55-year-old filmmaker opened that there are more serious conversations that require a lot of focus than the fees of the films.
He said in a statement: “I would say that since President Trump has started to delve into these ideas, there is a much more serious conversation from the studios about how to improve the situation in the United States — to be completely honest about it.”
The Dark Knight filmmaker emphasized the incentives that will be lost and emphasized the unemployment that will prevail in the country.
“If you look at the total consumption by the consumer on media, on entertainment, on our work, it is extremely stable.
“But we are looking at a 35-40 percent drop in employment for our members.”
Nolan raised these concerns after the filming of The Odyssey around the Mediterranean.
