There is evidence that one UI 8 beta is expanded
Support could return to the Galaxy S22 telephones
A full software launch is expected in July
Samsung’s One UI 7 (based on Android 15) has only been widely available for a few months, but the Beta test program for a UI 8 (based on Android 16) is already underway -and could soon expand to more Galaxy phones.
Right now you need a Samsung Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus or Galaxy S25 Ultra to sign up for one UI 8 beta, but users have also seen preparations done to give the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S22 access as well.
Samsung hasn’t said anything official about this yet, but it’s a strong tip that one UI 8 -BETA won’t be exclusive to the Galaxy S25 hand set for much longer. Presumably the Samsung Galaxy S24 hand set will also be included in the expansion.
One UI 8 beta opened last week and you can sign up via the member app on your Samsung phone. It may be an idea to continue checking the front of that app if your phone has been tipped to join the beta program soon.

There is a warning here, which is that one UI 8 Beta program is currently only available to users in the US, UK, Germany and South Korea (where Samsung is based). It is not clear whether the program will expand beyond these countries.
There may also be problems with capacity: As Sammobile reports, the Beta program in the US program this weekend so new users could not sign up. However, now new users are now accepted again.
Samsung has confirmed that a UI 8 will be pre -installed on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. Considering that these foldable ones are expected to be revealed sometime in July, it looks like this will be quite a short beta.
There is plenty to look forward to in a UI 8. The software update will bring better multitasking -support, telephone safety improvements, improved file sharing features, adjustments to Samsung Internet and Samsung reminders and lots of more.
