The Open: John Parry hits a hollow-in with an incredible shot on the 13th hole

John Parry hit the first hollow-in at the outdoors in the third round Saturday at Royal Portrush.

Parry, 38, hit an 8-iron on 192-Yard 13. Hole. The ball landed on the green, took a few jumps and went straight into the hole.

Parry took off his hat and embraced Justin Leonard, whom he played with, for celebration.

The English golfer guessed that it was about “the 10th hole-in-one of his career.

“Definitely the best, 100%,” said Parry.

Parry said he felt his shot “would be close” after he hit it.

“I hit a really good shot for once, so it was pretty nice. It was a pretty comfortable shot where I knew I had a big window to land the ball in,” Parry said, according to Open’s website.

“It was either beating cards, hit the cut and feeding down or – it went a little stronger than I thought it would from that distance to which club I hit. But I felt it would be close.”

Emiliano Grillo hit a hole-in-one on the same hole as the open was at Royal Portrush six years ago.

Parry’s hole-in-one was the 31st. By that open since 1981.
