Opposition parties are considering convening an All Parties Conference (APC) in February to discuss critical political, economic, constitutional and security issues, sources revealed on Monday.

Opposition leaders are advocating a united platform of democratic forces to address the pressing challenges facing the nation.

The Alliance has outlined its agenda as prioritizing constitutional supremacy and restoring the rule of law.

According to insiders, the APC is expected to invite stakeholders from various sectors, including legal experts, academics, farmers and civil society representatives, to ensure a comprehensive dialogue on national issues.

The alliance has also reached out to political leaders, including former Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, to discuss the APC proposal.

Over the past few days, the opposition has intensified consultations with various parties and leaders to find lasting solutions to the country’s current crisis.

In particular, sources indicate that the opposition may contact former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry and urge him to join the alliance.

Although Chaudhry has not yet decided to join the PTI, his potential involvement in the opposition alliance could strengthen efforts to counter the government.

The APC, if it materializes, aims to address the alleged government mismanagement that the opposition blames for the country’s ongoing crises and propose actionable solutions to put Pakistan on a corrective path.

Mustafa Khokhar joins hands with PTI led alliance

Former PPP Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar on Tuesday announced his decision to join the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led opposition alliance, Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Aeen Pakistan (TTAP).

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad along with PTI leader Omar Ayub and other leaders of the alliance, Khokhar expressed gratitude to TTAP for the comprehensive discussions held on the nation’s challenges and ongoing crises.

“Our discussions covered a range of issues including terrorism, economy and national integrity,” said Khokhar, who is also a former spokesman for PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

He said it was imperative to work together in the challenging times facing the nation. “The burden of these crises is borne by the population, with over 15 million falling below the poverty line in the past year,” he added.

Khokhar stressed the urgent need to save the country from political instability as he accused the current PML-N-led government of exacerbating the crises. “The government has given its shoulder to exacerbate these crises, a situation unprecedented in our history.”

Khokhar declared his commitment to work with TTAP and called for a national agenda focused on restoring the rule of law and the constitution. “This broader interest will include civil society and all stakeholders,” he added.
