The penguin, which was originally intended for a limited series, faced great demand for a season two after its breakout success involving bags of 24 nominations on Emmys.
But for all his hype, Lauren Leinr, Showrunner, has a condescending update to fans. When asked about season two, he said, “I don’t know. There is no current status update.”
Possibly is related to the possibility of a renewal on The Batman: Part II, Lauren told Thr“Think Matt turned right into his manuscript (to Batman Part II), so I’m excited to read it soon and see what’s coming from it – if something deserves another season [of The Penguin] or not. “
He continued, “I think we’ve said this before, but I really mean it: We have to feel sure we can peak ourselves, and that’s something that is really important to Colin Farrell and me, especially; otherwise we won’t do anything again if it won’t be excellent.”
After this, the creator said, “We were always meant to be a limited series. So it’s just different to turn to another season – it’s not something we’ve ever really talked about.”
However, Lauren said the plan for season 1 was always to take the protagonist, Oswald “OZ” Cobblepot, portrayed by Colin Farrell, to the second Batman movie.
“The intention of our first season was always that we launch OZ in the second movie, and so we couldn’t broadcast another season until Matt’s movie comes out,” he added.
The penguin Streamed at HBO Max.
