The Prime Minister reiterates his resolve to remove terrorism from Pakistan

Prime Minister recognizes KP as a strategically important province and acknowledges its sacrifices in war against terrorism

Speaking at the National Workshop of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa in Islamabad, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif reiterated his government’s dedication to eradicate terrorism from Pakistan and highlighted the role of the armed forces in achieving this.

In his speech, according to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz emphasized that national security is a top priority for his government, with a comprehensive strategy underway to tackle both internal and external security threats. He emphasized that the country, with the unwavering support of the Pakistani nation and armed forces, is ready to face these challenges head-on. “Through hard work, trust and honesty, we will soon achieve the position that Pakistan truly deserves among the nations,” he says.

The prime minister recognized Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa as a strategically important province, acknowledging its sacrifices in the war against terrorism. He noted that the people and security forces of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa have made unparalleled contributions to this cause. He also recalled how the province had generously welcomed Afghan refugees during the Afghan war and provided shelter to around four million Afghan citizens.

On the economic front, the Prime Minister reported significant progress in achieving macroeconomic stability and highlighted the government’s plans to further boost growth in agriculture, trade, exports and information technology.

He mentioned the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award and noted that in 2010, Punjab led the way in contributing one percent of its share to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa in recognition of the province’s sacrifices in the war on terror.

On external security threats, Prime Minister Shehbaz discussed the unprovoked Indian aggression last year and stated that Pakistan responded quickly and effectively by shooting down seven Indian aircraft in self-defense. Under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asif Munir, he said, the Pakistan military delivered a powerful message to the enemy that would be remembered.

The Prime Minister also addressed the issue of malicious propaganda against the Pakistan Armed Forces, especially on social media platforms, often supported by foreign entities. He reaffirmed his commitment to counter these divisive efforts and strengthen the image of the armed forces.

Prime Minister Shehbaz concluded his address by reaffirming the government’s unwavering dedication to securing Pakistan’s future and ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens.
