- Gaming Company Bragg discovered an attack on its systems recently
- It says no data was stolen and no encryption
- No threat actors assumed the responsibility yet
Bragg Gaming Group, a Canadian company that gives casinos software, games and backend platforms, has confirmed that it has recently suffered a cyberattack, but fortunately it doesn’t seem to have created many problems.
A short press release published on the company’s site said Bragg learned about a “cybersecurity event” on the early Sunday morning, August 16.
After learning from the incident, Bragg brought out third-party cybersecurity experts to contain the attack and assess the damage, it says. Preliminary results showed that the attack was “limited to Bragg’s internal computer environment.”
Targeting Igaming providers
“At present, there is no indication that any personal information was affected. In addition, the violation has had no influence on the company’s ability to continue its activities, nor has it been limited to access to any data that has been subject to the violation,” the company added.
So this was either not a data violation or ransomware attack, or the incident was stopped fast enough to prevent any actual injury.
Bragg Gaming Group does not run casinos themselves. It is a B2B provider that builds software, games and backend platforms used by online game operators to run their business. It seems to be pretty successful. It serves operators over North and Latin America as well as Europe, which has more than 200 customers and more than 450 employees.
Between 2019 and 2023, it experienced an annual growth rate of 37% (CAGR) and projects a total addressing market of around $ 40 billion in 2028.
In his writing, The post Tip that there is a pattern here as Bragg is not the only game company facing a break in recent months, after Australia’s Ainsworth Game Technology, as well as international game technology, both reported “significant disturbances” late in 2024.
