Manhattan – US President Donald Trump again proclaimed his crypto Bona Fides at a conference on Thursday and told an audience it was a “honor” to be considered a crypto president.
Speaking in a 90-second recorded video on Coinbase’s (Coin) state of Crypto Summit (no relation to Coindesk-News letter of the same name), repeated Trump comments he has made at other events to end his predecessor’s so-called war on crypto and form a working group to investigate digital activities.
Trump also referred to legislation that worked through Congress.
“My administration is working with governors to adopt the brilliant action that supports the creation of dollar-backed stablecoins, and we will also work to create clear and simple market frameworks that allow America to dominate crypto and Bitcoin forward,” he told a full space for scattered applause.
The Senate Genius Law will undergo a procedural vote on Thursday after a successful effort Wednesday. Meanwhile, two key housing committees advanced a bill on market structure on Tuesday.
Trump also noticed his executive order for establishing a national bitcoin
Reserve and said, “We created the American strategic Bitcoin Reserve and the United States’ digital asset stock,” although none of them have actually been created yet.
Coinbase donated a million dollars to Trump’s preliminary fund and was a great backman in the Fairshake Super Pac in the 2024 election. It is already obliged tens of thousands of millions of dollars to Fairshake for the 2026 election.
Following his remarks, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Circle (CRCL) CEO Jeremy Allaire reflected over crypto and their respective company’s developments, arguing that crypto could become a larger part of the global financial system.
Allaire, whose company was published on the New York Stock Exchange last week, said it was difficult for Circle to meet with backers or other units a decade ago.
“It was amazing to me that I would literally go in a room with an insurance company, [and] They were literally, as we were not sure we are allowed to have this meeting, ”said Allaire.
