Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar received a telephone call from US national security adviser Michael Walters, and thanked Pakistan for his efforts to fight terrorism and expressed appreciation of the country’s ongoing actions in the fight against extremism.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Walters conveyed a message of gratitude and praise on behalf of US President Donald Trump for Pakistan’s terrorist efforts.
In response, Dar Walters congratulated with his appointment as US national security adviser and expressed hope of further strengthening the long -standing and multifaceted relationship between the two countries under President Trump’s administration.
DAR repeated Pakistan’s obligation to continued cooperation with the United States in the fight against terrorism and welcomes President Trump’s notice of the return of military equipment left by US forces in Afghanistan.
The two sides also discussed expanding collaboration in sectors such as information technology, energy and minerals. They agreed on the importance of continued dialogue on trade, investment, climate change and health in order to promote wider bilateral cooperation.
