Federal Petroleum Minister Dr. Musadik Malik has said that the way the country is run, even a small retail store cannot be managed in this way.

By tackling a ceremony held in connection with the 30th annual technical conference and oil exhibition in Islamabad on Tuesday, Minister Malik emphasized that liberalization is needed in government policies. He said, “The way we run the country, even a retail store can’t work this way.”

Dr. Malik noted that operations of businesses are not the government’s job and that it means that it must be handed over to the private sector.

He recognized the failure of privatized Pia (Pakistan International Airlines) and mentioned that the government again began the privatization process for the airline. He added that the focus should be on increasing the dependence on national resources and moving away from outdated and bureaucratic methods.

Dr. Musadik Malik said the government is pursuing multi-formed strategy for the development of the energy sector in the country.

They mentioned the basic columns of the government strategy to promote the energy sector is the access to energy, the supply of affordable energy and energy sustainability.

The minister said to achieve the goals, the government is working on three fronts that include indigenization, electrification and liberalization.

He said the government’s main focus is to reduce energy costs for the poor and that it uses local energy resources for this purpose. He said the government is also working to reduce the dangerous effects of energy on the environment.

Musadik Malik said that forty new offshore and one -year -old coastal blocks have been announced after a period of ten years, which is a great achievement.

He said Pakistan is open to business and these blocks provide excellent investment opportunities for international investors to invest in Pakistan.

The Petroleum Minister explained that the government is currently working on three fronts in the energy sector.

These include work to give energy access to the entire population, ensure affordable energy prices and improve energy shopping.

He also mentioned the government’s focus on increasing local production and said that “What will we do with energy that the public can’t afford?”

He pointed out that simply bringing in one or two machines does not bring prosperity and that sustainable development requires self -driven scientific research and work. Dr. Malik emphasized the importance of building national trust and said that moving forward,

Pakistan must move beyond a narrow mindset. He warned that if glaciers continue to melt quickly, the country’s irrigation system will be destroyed. He emphasized that every action taken should be considering the environmental impact.
