  • Pre-Monsoun is raining to begin across the country from today.

Karachi: Easy drip in different parts of the city on Sunday brought a welcome change in weather, giving residents some relief from the recent heat.

Areas including Nazimabad, North Nazimabad and New Karachi, as well as Bahadurabad, Shahrah-E-Faisal, Saddar and Malir, experienced light rain, adding the pleasant atmosphere.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the sky remains over Karachi cloudy with a further chance of dripping later in the day. The maximum temperature is expected to reach up to 35 ° C.

Wind blows from the west at a speed of 16 kilometers per hour, while the humidity levels in the air have reached 80%, which contributes to the total mugginess despite the dripping.

The residents of the metropolis, after rolling under burning heat for several days, have taken a sigh of relief, as the city witnesses showers in the last few days with a cover of clouds that provide protection against the sun most of the day.

Previously, MET Office stated in its pre-MONSOON counseling that moist streams from the Bay of Bengal and Arabian began to enter the country and set the stage for the upcoming Monsun season. As of today, strong wind and thunderstorm -related rainfall are expected in Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu and Jacobabad, until June 24.

PMD has expected pre-Monsun rain across various other regions in the country with occasional holes, which decreases the intense heat wave that affects several parts.

The expected wet spell brings dust storms, rain winds and thunderstorms, while isolated areas can also experience heavy rain and hailstorms.

The forecast also warned that wind storms and lightning can cause damage to vulnerable structures such as electric rods, trees, solar panels and parked vehicles, especially in upper and central regions, including Islamabad. The intense heat wave that currently affects many parts of the country is gradually expected to fall into the expected period.

There is also a risk of urban flooding in low -lying areas of Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Islamabad during heavy rain. Farmers are advised to manage their crop activities in accordance with the forecast.
