Karachi experienced a welcome change in weather on Saturday morning, with rain showers relieving several parts of the city.
The rain, which began early in the day, has completed a prolonged spell with intense heat, giving a much needed respite for the residents.
Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has expected intermittent rain and thunderstorms all day, especially after dinner.
Temperatures are expected to reach the top at 31 ° C, with high humidity levels left around 90%. Wind blows from the northeast at 10 km/h and contributes to the cool but humid conditions.
PMD has also predicted Thundershowers for other cities in Sindh, including Hyderabad, Dadu, Badin and Succur.
The ongoing Western system is expected to bring thunderstorms, gusty wind and more rain to the region until June 29.
In Karachi, the highest rainfall has been registered so far was 16 mm in the Surjani city, followed by 7.4 mm in northern Karachi and 6.1 mm in Orangi Town.
Met Office has issued a warning that another monsoon system is likely to affect Sindh around July 5 or 6.
The PMD spokesman noted that the southern parts of Karachi are currently under cloud cover, which can lead to heavier rainfall later in the day.
Residents are advised to remain cautious on the roads as wet conditions can lead to smooth surfaces.
