- About System OM-5 II is rumored to land this month
- It can be the cheapest mirror -free camera with a stacked sensor
- Other details are rings but expect usb-c in a new model
Rumors with the permission of 43 Romans suggest that the OM-5 II system could be revealed later this month, coinciding with Bild Expo in New York, taking place on 17-18. June.
Such a model would succeed with OM-5, which remains in the top location of our best travel camera guide, despite being almost three years old. It is thanks to its compact body, retro styling, excellent lens selection and competitive price.
OM-5 II details are poor at this time, leaving me skeptical of such an impending message. However, there is a potentially tasty upgrade that has been touted for another gene model-one stacked sensor.
The latest about system cameras have tended to be smaller upgrades, but a stacked sensor would represent a huge boost in the performance of the original model.
The probable disadvantage is a large price increase. This is because stacked sensors are much more expensive than the ordinary species used in OM-5.
Currently, OM-3 is the cheapest mirror-free camera available with a stacked sensor, but it still costs much more than OM-5.
A potential OM-5 II needs a reasonable price gap from OM-3, and if it is materialized with a stacked sensor for less, it can be an apartment purchase that cement the OM-5 Series position as a top choice for travel.
That said, the competitive price of OM-5 is a key factor for its top position in our best travel camera guide and using a stacked sensor will inevitably push the price up.
In addition to potentially inheriting a stacked sensor, we know precisely about the potentially upcoming OM-5 II.
An update I can be sure if the OM-5 II country is USB-C charging. After all, the EU’s new common charger directive requires USB-C as the universal charging port standard, and the current model was one of the last cameras launched with Micro USB connection.
What do you think is a stacked sensor a good idea for an OM-5 subsequent? What new features would you like to see? Tell us that in the comments below.
