- ExpressVPN adds a new “theme” feature to its mobile apps for visual adjustment
- Dark Mode is now available for all iOS users for the first time
- The update follows May’s biggest renewal of ExpressVPN’s mobile apps
ExpressVPN has revealed a new theme feature to its mobile apps to give users more flexibility in what the interface looks and feels.
Most notable, one of the best VPN providers in the market has finally brought full support to the “highly expected” dark state of iOS devices.
The update that follows May’s renewal of ExpressVPN’s mobile apps reflects a subtle shift in how VPN providers are approaching Design -moving beyond pure function to meet the user’s expectations of comfort and adaptation without compromising on core -private experience.
More than just cosmetic
Dark state Has been a consistent request among ExpressVPN’s mobile users who offer a more comfortable viewing experience and potential battery savings for phones with OLED screens.
The company says it would take the time to roll this out properly across platforms, ensuring a trouble -free visual experience that does not compromise on usefulness.
For iOS users, the introduction of Dark Mode marks a remarkable milestone that closes a functional gap that was lasting compared to Android.
You can now find dark mode under the new Twilight mode in the appearance of the account settings.
In addition to dusk, the new Themes Interface also includes sand, midnight, sky and system standard states. As with Dark Mode, you can choose your favorite by going to the look of your mobile app’s account settings and customizing your app.
Despite appearing as a small change, interface adaptation means, especially for apps such as Virtual Private Networks (VPN), opened several times a day.
Comment on this point, Expressvpns Chief Information Officer, Shay Peretz Said, “Safety and style can – and should – go hand in hand. We remain engaged in both, with privacy, is still our highest priority.”
As mentioned earlier, the introduction of themes follows May’s renewal of ExpressVPN’s mobile apps that included improvements such as a brand new speed testing tool, design and ease of use upgrades, a server location card and more.
What this means for ExpressVPN users
The rolling may not be a headline in the traditional sense, but it emphasizes a subtle shift: Even among security -focused apps, the user experience is no longer secondary.
When the VPN uses become more mainstream, especially on mobile, updates as themes help bridge the gap between the function between function and form.
Whether you change servers, check your connection or leave the app run in the background, makes a comfortable, customizable interface these daily interactions feel smoother. And for users who have been waiting for dark mode on iOS, the wait is finally over.
