Apple has just announced its App Store Awards for 2025, where a selection of the best apps have been named across a number of categories. Top-notch apps were selected for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Vision Pro, Apple Watch and Apple TV, and the announcement follows on the heels of Google’s 2025 Play Store awards, which were revealed yesterday.
In total, Apple selected three winners in each category, honoring music production, productivity, image editing, academia and more. Here we’ve rounded up all the best apps that got the nod from Apple – read on to see if your favorites made the cut.
Finalists for the iPhone app of the year
Announced as the three best iPhone apps in the world, the winners here include BandLabwhich is designed to help musicians create tracks and share them with a thriving community.
Laddermeanwhile, is all about giving you fresh strength training that serves up something new every week. Rounding off the category is Tiimowhich utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to help you plan your time, stay organized and balance your mental load.
Finalists for this year’s iPad app
AI was a recurring theme in the App Store awards, as demonstrated by Detail. This video editing app puts AI to good use with automatic edits and a conversational interface that lets you explain your desired result to the AI.
The other iPad winner was Graintouch (above), an art app that replicates the “soul of print” in a digital format using realistic inks, brushes and materials. The last iPad app finalist was Structureda productivity planner with an incredibly intuitive interface that helps you keep track of your day.
Finalists for Mac App of the Year
With its large screens and powerful hardware, the Mac is a great place to edit photos – and Acorn (above) capitalizes on it with its professional tools and non-destructive editing effects, helping it earn a spot as one of the best Mac apps of 2025.
It was joined by Essayista writing app expertly tailored for the academic world thanks to its automatic formatting, powerful reference manager, support for the most common citation styles, and more.
And if you need a helping hand to keep your home organized and tidy, Under my roof is the app for you. It tracks renovations and repairs, keeps your vital documents together and organizes your belongings.
Apple Vision Pro app of the year finalists
If you stream and record videos on Apple’s Vision Pro headset, Camo Studio can lend a helping hand with its scene control, overlay, easy sharing interface and powerful editing effects.
Another place, interactive documentary D-Day: The camera soldier was honored for his immersive portrayal of the Normandy landings through the eyes of a combat cameraman. And Explore POV takes you across the globe in a series of immersive videos, from the stunning lagoons of French Polynesia to Arctic landscapes lit by the midnight sun.
Finalists for Apple Watch App of the Year
GO Club bills itself as a pedometer, and Apple has recognized it for its ability to keep you both active and hydrated through its smart, gentle water reminders, beautiful aesthetics, and crystal-clear layout.
You may not need to take photos from your Apple Watch very often, but when you do, Pro Camera by Moment is there to help thanks to its well-proportioned buttons and useful array of tools. And third on the list is Stravaan app that requires little introduction. Apple touts it as a place where the global fitness community can share goals, tips and milestones.
Finalists for Apple TV App of the Year
Looking for something great to see? The HBO Max app is a good place to start, having been cited as one of the best Apple TV apps of 2025 by Apple, with the company praising its quality lineup and focus on accessibility.
Because the children are there PBS KIDS videowhich offers a wealth of kid-friendly programming and entertainment that lets parents relax knowing their little ones will be kept happy.
However, Apple TV isn’t just for apps, as shown by Super Farming Boy 4Kwho also won in this category. This game is a mix of action, puzzle and adventure, brought together by farming sim elements for an enjoyable experience for the whole family.
