- New photos showing dummy units of all four expected iPhone 17 models in two different colors
- You can see how slim iPhone 17 -air can be compared to the other models
- Online reactions to the designs are largely negative
It looks like we get new and better look at the probable design of the iPhone 17 Series almost every day now, and the latest rumor-fuel photos show dummy devices in all four models, side by side.
Shared by @Sonnydickson (via Gsmarena), these images claim to show Apple’s upcoming phones in both black and white shades, and in both cases their rear panels are a single color rather than the two-tone design that the early leaks suggested that the iPhone 17 had to have.
This single -color look is more likely to be exactly based on recent leaks, but no matter what, the large, redesigned camera blocks you can see below will almost certainly appear on the finished phones, as all leaks seem to agree on their recording.
And here’s the white one – looks even better than the black one. pic.twitter.com/b18nh0xbmbApril 23, 2025
You can also see how slim iPhone 17 Air is likely to be in some of these images, with it appearing significantly thinner than the rest of these iPhone 17 series -Dumy devices.
As always, it is worth taking these pictures with a pinch of salt. While Dummy devices can be designed based on official information from Apple, it is possible that these were simply created based on rumors of the design of these phones. Still, they match several previous leaks, so we expect them to be something accurate.
Makes a bad impression
In which case it will be interesting to see how popular – or not – the iPhone 17 series is at the launch later in the year, because reactions to these images are mixed at best. On Reddit, these designs have been described as a “monstrosity”, “so bad” and “so ugly” among other things.
Not every comment is so negative, but there seems to be a little in the way of really positive reactions.
However, it is likely that perception will change. First, even though these dummy devices are pretty much accurate, the finished phones will almost certainly look more polished. And for someone else, people are likely to get used to the changes over time – just as they got used to chopped when it was introduced on the iPhone X in 2017 and to the tribe on AirPods.
So one year from now, most people will probably get used to this new iPhone look, and the next time Apple Redesigner iPhone, we will probably hear people who want it to stay like that.
