Thieves broke into the farm in the Pakistani cricketer’s Kamran and Umar Akmal’s father in Lahore and stole newly installed solar cell panels worth RS500,000 in wide daylight.
According to police, the incident took place in jurisdiction at the Heyr police station, where unidentified suspects broke the main gate’s lock and went into the property.
They removed and stole the solar panels before flinging from the stage.
The victim, the father of the former Pakistani wicketkeepers, said the solar system was installed only one day earlier. “We set it up yesterday, and today the thieves took it away,” he told local media.
Police arrived at the farm shortly after the incident was reported. Authorities said CCTV recordings and other evidence were used to identify the guilty.
SP Cantonment Owais Shafiq confirmed that a case had been registered against unknown suspects of the complaint of farm coach, Kashif Mahmood.
He added that officers had been instructed to trace and arrest the thieves as soon as possible.
