- IPhone 17 -Air Looks Far Slimmer Out Than Iphone 16 Plus
- However, Air’s camera is out in a similar way far
We fully expect the iPhone 17 Air will be one of this year’s slimmest phones, maybe even beat the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, but a new apparent leak gives us a clear look at how thin it can be compared to one of Apple’s current phones.
Leaker Majin BU (via Gsmarena) has shared photos of what is probably an iPhone 17 Air Dummy device along with an iPhone 16 Plus. We say ‘presumably’ because they simply refer to it as an iPhone 17 air, so it could be a prototype instead, but it’s more likely a non-functional dummy.
In any case, it looks at these images a little more than half as thick as the 7.8 mm thick iPhone 16 Plus. In fact, it is probably a little more than that, with leaks that suggest that the iPhone 17 air is 5.65 mm thick, but it certainly seems to be extremely slim.

Cameras worries
But while the majority of the phone is very thin, the single -line camera is noticeable from the top. In fact, it seems that the bit with the lens might be as thick as the part of the iPhone 16 Plus – which means that in the thickest point iPhone 17 air would not be much if any leaner than current iPhones.
And because the rest of the body is so slim, the camera’s bump is far more noticeable than on the iPhone 16 Plus, so the aspect of the design is undoubtedly not ideal. Of course, there is a chance that the design of the phone in these images is wrong, but it matches previous pictures.
Still, this problem is probably inevitable. Apple is reportedly equipped with iPhone 17 air with only one rear camera to slim down the phone, but actually reduces the size of the lens and other camera components probably not possible without a reduction in quality.
So the iPhone 17 Air will probably be a very slim phone – just as long as you ignore the thicker camera line at the top.
