- Colorful Smart 900 Mini PC delivers AI-driven performance with 16-core Ryzen processor
- Another Strix Halo Unit from a minor fire while Dell, Asus, MSI remains absent
- It is built for creators who need fast graphics, SD card access and a good selection of gates
Ryzen AI Max+ 395 is AMDS flagship AI APU, which offers strong performance for creative tasks, AI workload and games. A number of PC manufacturers have already built mobile workstations around it, and the lesser-known colorful are the latest to participate in the list of its new Smart 900.
This mini-PC combines advanced specifications with a cool, industrial design that would not work out of place in Alienwares lineup, and make you wonder why Dell (and Asus and MSI for that matter) still have not released anything built around AMD’s powerful new chip.
Ryzen AI Max+ 395 ‘Strix Halo’ APU is developed on Zen 5 architecture and is a 16-core chip with 32 threads and a turbo watch up to 5.1 GHz. It has a 50 top NPU for AI tasks and Radeon 8060S graphics with RDNA 3.5 architecture.
It even has an SD 4.0 cardslot
GPU includes 40 calculation units that offer competitive power for creative tasks, 3D workload and machine learning.
The SMART 900 supports LPDDR5 memory at 8000MHz (we could imagine up to 128 GB, but nothing has been confirmed) and includes two PCIe 4.0 SSD slots. This combination means fast reading-writing speeds and strong multitasking, making it a solid choice for editing, modeling and driving local inferencies.
For creators and media professionals, it includes a rare bonus – an SD 4.0 card castle on the front panel that allows fast media transfers without needing an adapter.
On the front, users get two USB 3.2 ports, a USB 4.0 Type-C and SD slot. On the back are additional USB 2.0 and 3.2 gates, another USB 4.0 Type-C, HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4.
Bluetooth support covers versions 4.2 to 5.2, and networks include Wi-Fi 7 and 2.5 Gbps Ethernet.
The case itself uses anodized aluminum and has a 4-liter footprint. It has to fit nicely in professional or home environments without appearing basic or voluminous, and the design makes it look like a massive exclamation point – and what isn’t love about it?
There is no word yet about pricing or even a specific release date, but we know it will be available globally at the launch – so stay up to date for more details hopefully will come soon.
