- KeyView 13 “Touch is a mechanical keyboard with a built-in 13-inch touch screen
- It works with phones, tablets, laptops, desktops and even game consoles
- Unfortunately, there is no battery or touch plate so you will have to give power and a mouse
KeyView 13 “Touch, from Aura Screens, is a compact 82-key mechanical keyboard (83 keys for the British version) with a fun and useful twist-it has an integrated 13-inch touch screen attached.
This is not the first product of its kind we have seen – we have previously covered Maxfree K3 and Thanko Mechoboard with a 10 -inch screen, both offering the same blend of keyboard and display in a device.
We have also encountered various DIY projects that produced laptops without screens, as well as notebook docking stations with built-in screens, but few of them have been as polished or featured as this.
RGB -Lighting and Custom Shortcut
KeyView 13 “Touch’s screen folds from 0 to 90 degrees and delivers a 1920 x 720 matte IPS screen. It supports the full 10-point multitouch and has a wide 178 ° view angle, making it useful for video, documents or just as another screen.
The keyboard itself uses yellow mechanical switches and PBT key capsules. It can be fully customized with hot-swappable keys, RGB lighting and support for custom shortcuts.
The device includes USB-C, HDMI, two USB 3.0 ports, an SD/TF slot and an M2 SSD Bay for internal storage expansion. It also supports 60W PD fast charging.
It’s compatible with macos, Windows, Android, Linux and Chromeos. This means it works with laptops, desktops, fully equipped USB-C phones such as Galaxy Line, latest iPhones, tablets and even game consoles.
The case is made of aluminum alloy, ABS and PC plastic. It’s solid, but weighs 2.12 kg, making it more of a backpack element than something pocketed.
There is also a built -in speaker, rated to 1W. It’s not something special, but it will be fine for messages or quick audio tasks.
However, there are a few major disadvantages – there is no battery to begin with, so you will have to connect it every time you want to use it. And there is also no touch plate, so unless your device is touching competent, you will also bring a mouse.
For a particular type of user, especially those who want to transform their phone into a skilled workstation, it is still an unusual and potentially useful option. You can buy it directly from Aura now for $ 399.00, 20% off on its usual MSRP of $ 499.
