With the holidays just around the corner, you can expect many holiday countdowns or advent calendars to be released. We’ve already seen the latest from Lego, which has been hard to stock, but the Disney Store may have just raised the bar.
This one singlehandedly blew me away as a Star Wars fan, and we’re exclusively revealing the Disney Store’s Star Wars Miniature Legacy Lightsaber Hilt Countdown Calendar. It’s an aptly named product, as hidden behind paper boxes that look straight out of the Star Wars universe is an iconic lightsaber from the franchise.
While it’s not a full 24-day countdown, it’s 12 days full of intrigue, as you won’t know until you open it whether you’ll score Yoda’s iconic green saber or Darth Vader’s red one. It’s likely to be at the top of the list for many Star Wars fans—and not just for the holiday season, either.
I’ll dive into why that’s the case below, but let’s talk about the all-important price and launch date. The Star Wars Miniature Legacy Lightsaber Hilts Countdown Calendar can be ordered tomorrow October 20, 2025 for $99.99 and if you are in the UK it can be ordered now for £90. It comes to about $12 per mini lightsaber grip and display case, so while it may be more expensive than a typical countdown set, it’s in line with general Star Wars collectibles.
Lego is taking a fun approach with its Star Wars advent calendar, and I’m tempted to open mine before the holidays. You could be like me and also use this to count down to a trip to Galaxy’s Edge, Star Wars Landing at Disneyland or Disney World.
Once unwrapped, you’ll find each of the lightsabers in a Star Wars-style box, complete with a card showing who wielded the lightsaber and other important details. Perhaps these were transported on the Millennium Falcon or held in a storage bay on the Death Star! The display cabinet is uncluttered and each handle connects to the others you will unpack for easy viewing.
Once you’ve unpacked all 12, you can stack them four high and three across. While they don’t light up, make sound or include the illuminated blade, the level of detail on each handle – and the broad representation of characters from across Star Wars – is sure to please fans. The included lightsaber grips were used by Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Yoda, Ben Solo, Kylo Ren, Qui-Gon Jinn, Mace Windu, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Princess Leia, Rey, Count Dooku and Anakin Skywalker.
If you’re looking for a stocking stuffer or just want to add to your collection of droid figures, the Disney Store’s next Droid Factory figure has launched alongside this countdown calendar. This time it’s DJR-3X, originally a pilot and now spinning tunes as a DJ at Oga’s Cantina at Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland and Disney World.
This droid comes in classic packaging and has some moving parts, but more importantly, matches the DJ fit seen in the parks, complete with correct weathering. The Droid Factory DJR-3X Action Figure also drops tomorrow for $14.99 at the Disney Store.
