I’ve been so invested in TrainWreck recently. From the unhinged story of Balloon boy to the disturbing Astroworld Tragedy, this series has taken us on a wild trip.
It is also getting smoothly wilder as we explore one of the biggest viral events of the last decade. Storm area 51 is about a meme that spiraling out of control, resulting in people responding to an online joke invitation and then actually appearing at the base.
The base is of course highly classified, So the whole affair was very much a train wing, as the series’ name suggests. Watch the Netflix trailer below to see what to expect.

Why i’m excited for storm area 51
What is not to love about this story? It’s as creepy as they come, and I’m excited to be sucked into another incident that shocked the world.
When millions of people responded to the Facebook event, invited called “Storm Area 51, they couldn’t stop us all”, the event of the event, Matty Roberts, had just assumed it would be a meme and nothing more.
Joke events are happening all the time, whether participating in a prime minister “Leaving Drinking” or other current references, we have all seen our reasonable proportion of events on social media, which are clearly not intended to be taken seriously.
Unfortunately, Roberts did not expect people to actually shows up at the base, but about 150 people did. Fortunately, it wasn’t the millions that responded to the event, but it was enough for it to become news -worthy.
Outside of this, people arranged two music festivals called Alienstock and Storm Area 51 Basecamp, build attractions and encouraged people to participate. The whole situation lasted about 96 hours and seven arrests were made.
As someone who spends a lot of time online, I’m eager to understand how the situation spiraled so quickly, and hopefully get more insight into how things went down from the people there were there.
