- Galaxy Buds 4 seems to be in progress
- Newly discovered image suggests a redesign is happening
- No leaks of specifications or intended release date yet
It took a while for Samsung Galaxy Bud 3 to arrive: They were launched in 2024, three years after the second generation. But it seems that we may not have to wait so long for Galaxy Buds 4 – and a new image suggests a redesign is coming.
When leaks go, this is weird: Instead of a photo of a prototype or a junk rendering, it’s an icon. As Android Authority reports, there is an icon for Galaxy Buds 4 included in a leaked structure of the One UI 8.5 operating system – and that icon is very different from it for BDS 3.
What is different about Galaxy Buds 4?
The Galaxy Bud 3 icon in the same software brand “LIST_IC_EARBUDS_BUDS4” -Is well-known, and I dare say that, a little airpods pro-y.
The icon of the Galaxy Bud 4 is bolder, with what appears to be a smaller, more rounded ear tip and a slightly different stem too. The ends of the stems are rounded rather than triangular, and the body of the earplugs appears to have slightly different proportions.
I have put the pictures side by side so you can see the differences:
I know this feels a bit like staring into tea leaves to try to divine the future, but Samsung will not redesign a system icon if it is not redesign of the hardware that the icon refers to: The company would just switch number 3 to a 4 and (ahem) clock of early.
So the leak indicates that some A kind of redesign is underway. And next to the recent Galaxy Buds 4 Pro parts delicious, it also means it’s just a matter of time before more significant information starts to escape.
