- Aluminum building and full keyboard hides a portable desk in full specification inside
A pocket-sized PC PC in a folding keyboard may sound like a concept unit, but a new mini-machine from China seems to be very real.
Designed by a company called Linglong, this folding Ryzen-driven mini-PC fits in a jacket or (large) pants pocket, unfolds in a full-size keyboard and runs a full Windows 11 Pro-Desktop.
Road below 800 g and about the size of a quarter of A4 paper when folded, the unit is aimed at anyone who wants portability without sacrificing functionality.
Selection of decent port
Once the PC is opened, the PC reveals a full QWERTY keyboard with physical contacts and a chassis made of CNC-Machin aluminum.
There is no TouchPad or ThinkPad pointing nub, so a separate mouse is required, but the mechanical journey and durability – which is classified for 100,000 keystroke – suggests that it is built for severe use.
In the heart of the system is an AMD Ryzen 7 7840U processor, paired with 16 GB LPDDR5 RAM and either 512 GB or 1 TB of storage space.
Graphics are handled by integrated RDNA3-based Radeon 780m, and a 16000 mAh internal battery drives the unit for up to 10 hours.
Despite its small form factor, the device includes a respectable selection of gates: USB4, USB-C 3.2 and USB-A 3.2 together with Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6 and an HDMI compatible USB view.
The device supports multi-screen output and can be docked to act as a travel work station, gaming center or media hub.
A built-in monitoring tool shows CPU and GPU load, temperature and other real-time statistics.
The Linglong Mini -PC is only available in China for now (I share your disappointment), Mini PC Mini PC Mini about the Orange PI 800 keyboard computer.
Although it lacks global accessibility or official support for Western markets, it is an ambitious reimagining of what portable computing can look like, and I can only hope that it will have a wider release soon or spark like designs elsewhere.
