Portable routers are often marketed as solutions for travelers and remote workers, and the peppered Pulse Aura 5G is the latest lineup to make such a claim.
It is built around 5G connection options and support for both eSIM and physical Sims, and it is designed for users who want to avoid dependence on uneven Hotel Wi-Fi or unpredictable public hotspots.
With dimensions of 140 mm x 70 mm x 14 mm and a weight of 300 grams, the unit is compact, but not very light for a pocket gadget.
Aura Pro and Aura Ultra
The uneven pulse -ura -router promises “Dual Sim Smart Switching”, which automatically selects the strongest available network without user action.
This would clearly benefit frequent travelers crossing cover zones, but it also raises questions of efficiency and reliability in areas where 5G access is inconsistent.
The device has a built-in touch screen for status control and settings that avoid the need for a companion app.
Under the cap, it comes with a 6000 mAh removable battery that supports 45W fast charging, which is convenient, but its durability is yet to be seen.
The design avoids the use of external antennas and instead rely on internal high-hand components that keep the profile slim, but can limit the flexibility of those who depend on stronger directional signals in rural or remote areas.
To meet the different needs of users, the PEPY PULS AURA 5G Router Router includes two models, Aura Ultra and Aura Pro.
AURA Ultra comes with Wi-Fi 7, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB of storage space, adding fingerprint approval to security.
This model is aimed at users who may consider it the best router with regard to raw specifications, although its real value depends on uniform performance and security over time.
For some, this can serve as a game router, but about latency and throughput —match dedicated home hardware remains uncertain.
Aura Pro is a scaled-down version that supports Wi-Fi 6, with 4GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal stock offering just enough for a small company’s router.
Both versions are powered by Snapdragon modema, where Pro uses X62 and Ultra using the newer X75.
Their packaging includes essential things, such as a Type-C cable, power adapter, SIM Ejector and User Guide.
The prices of these devices range from $ 399 too early backers to as high as $ 699, depending on model and bundle.
At the time of writing, the project has raised over $ 81,000 from 152 backers on Kickstarter, who far exceeded its $ 8,000 goal, with ten days still back in his campaign.
