CALAT: At least three people were killed and seven others were caused by injuries after unidentified attacks opened shots at a passenger trainer traveling from Karachi to Quetta near a checkpost in Balochistan’s kalat, police said Wednesday.

The attack occurred as the bus approached Nemargh Cross near the Kalat district when the unidentified attackers first opened fire and then threw hand grenades.

Vehicles running on this route carry about 40 to 50 passengers. However, the exact number of passengers remain on board the targeted bus unknown.

Talking to Pakinomist NewsThe Balochistan government spokesman, Shahid Trind noted that security agencies, district authorities and rescue teams immediately reached the stage. The wounded were transferred to Qalat DHQ Hospital, where an emergency has been declared.

Security forces were closed from the area and launched a search operation to pursue the assailants, Rind said, adding that attackers are still largely. “Initial reports suggest that attackers were waiting to strike. They closed the street from both sides,” he added.

Police officials added that the attackers were waiting on top of mountains nearby to attack the bus.

The attack came days after at least nine passengers traveling on two Punjab-bound coaches were abducted and killed by unidentified armed men in the sour-dakai area on the border between Balochistan’s Zhob and Loralai districts.

Assistant Commissioner Zhob, Naveed Alam, said attackers opened fire on the abducted passengers after taking them away from the vehicles, adding that the bodies were transported to Rakhni to dispatch to their native cities in Punjab.

Shahid Rind, the Balochistan Government spokesman, said Fitna Al Hindustan – an expression used for terrorist organizations in Balochistan – had carried out the attacks.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti declared that the murderers of innocent civilians were not worthy of any grace. “Those who murder innocent people will be chased to the last man,” said the minister of chief.
