The accident happened near Nagori Kanta in Gadap City when a car collided with a stationary truck. Three family members died on the spot: 55-year-old Ashkok, his wife 50-year-old Seeta and their 22-year-old son Sahil. Another son, Sanjay, was seriously injured and taken to a nearby hospital.

The motorway police and Rescue 1122’s motorway team responded quickly. The injured son received immediate treatment before being shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Police said the driver told his father he felt sleepy but continued to drive. Investigators believe the crash happened when the driver lost control after dozing off.

SHO Gadap City, Sarfraz Jatoi, said the family were residents of Islamkot, Tharparkar district, and were traveling for a wedding in Karachi’s Bahadurabad area. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision.

The Highways Agency has confirmed that driver fatigue was the primary cause of the crash and an investigation is ongoing.
