Peshawar:
In a joint terror visit surgery, the SWAT police and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) killed three key operatives by Fitna Al-Khawarij, a group identified as an Indian proxy, including a high-value target with a Bounty of RS2 million on Saturday, reported Express News.
According to CTD, the terrorists were involved in attacks on security forces and killing police staff. Among the deceased, Ajmal alias Waqas was accused of murdering members of a village defense council and erected as a most sought -after terrorist.
The other suspect was identified as Matiullah, also known as Ishaq and Junaid. The third killed terrorist was Rahimullah Rehmani, also known as Rohullah.
CTD stated that the terrorists were also linked to IED attacks, extortion cases and was part of a network that received foreign funding to spread terror in the region.
Regional police officer Sher Akbar Khan called the operation a decisive battle for the operational wings in Fitna al-Khawarij in SWAT and the surrounding areas, confirming continued efforts to eradicate the group.
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General for Police Zulfiqar Hameed praised CTD and SWAT police for success and emphasized that operations against terrorists would be intensified to secure lasting peace in the province.
