Three transpersons shot dead

Karachi:

The bodies of three transient people were regained Sunday from shrubs in a secluded area near the Nagori Cooperative Housing Society adjacent to the Superhighway M-9 highway. The identities of the victims were later confirmed through fingerprint matching.

After notification of the finding, the Memon Goth police, Rangers’ officials and rescue teams reached the scene. Police closed the area and began a search operation while the Crime Scene Unit (CSU) was called to collect evidence.

After inspecting the crime scene, SSP Malir told Abdul Khaliq Pirzada Media Representatives that all three people were shot and killed. Reportedly, each was recorded once, with two of them shot in the chest and one in the head. Furthermore, SSP reported that the scene suggests that the victims were killed in the same place when two ball holes were found nearby. Two bodies were found together while the third was found a few feet away, suggesting that the third victim may have tried to escape. In addition, SSP revealed that the condition of the bodies suggests that they had been there for only a few hours, but the exact death time must be confirmed by the medical legal officer (MLO).

Police recovered two 9 mm ball sleeve, a torch, a roll of tissue and other objects from the stage. The restored cabinets must be crossed to determine whether a single weapon or more weapons were used in the attack. SSP Pirzada revealed that no CCTV cameras were located nearby, but said the surrounding cameras are reviewed for any recordings. He also noted that there are indications that the victims have often visited the location, with some recovered, used, objects that support this theory.

SSP reported that no items were found on the bodies that could help identify the victims, nor were any cell phones regained from the stage. However, Sho Memon Goth, Javed Abro, revealed the identity of the deceased, confirmed through fingerprint matching. The victims were identified as 20-year-old Alex Riyasat alias Aini, son of Riyasat Masih, originally from Sheikhupura, 28-year-old Muhammad Jeel alias Sameera, son of Muhammad Murad, originally from Khairpur, and an unidentified person known by alias.

Gender Interactive Alliance Problems Statement

The Gender’s Interactive Alliance (GIA), an organization in transient rights, issued a statement and noted that the three murdered individuals, Asma, Sameera and Aini, were residents of Bilawal Goth and Safora Town. Their livelihoods are begging and they had left their homes to beg for alms and earn a living, but never returned.

GIA claimed that these repetitive events of violence against the transient society stand as evidence that society is systematically targeted. In this regard, the alliance declared “This is not just about the murder of a few individuals, it is an attempt to scare and dampen the whole community.”

The alliance appealed to the Sindh government and police to conduct a transparent investigation that helped the rapid arrest of all those involved in the murders. The GIA also required a special protection unit for the security of transgender people who called for strict legislation and enforcement to prevent hate crimes and violence against society.

Trans Social Stages Protest

In response to the triple murder, the transsexual society staged a protest outside Jinnah Hospital. The demonstration was led by the leader of transient rights Bindiya Rana, who strongly condemned the incident, announced a press conference and provincial protests. Stating “These events have created tremendous fears among society,” Bindiya asked “if we were to stop leaving our home completely?”

Cm ordering inquiry

Sindh -Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah also noticed the murders and issued orders to the IG police to immediately arrest the murderers. Murad said the murderers should be arrested at all costs and ordered to a report being submitted to him. CM said, “Transgders is an oppressed part of society,” and said the state will not tolerate the killing of any suppressed and innocent citizen.
