Three ‘TTP Terrorists’ Killed in Swat Ibo

Three wanted terrorists and “key operatives” by the forbidden Tehreek-E-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed in a joint operation performed by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and police in Barikot Tehsil in the Swat District, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Friday.

In a statement, CTD (Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa) noted that a targeted raid was launched on “verified intelligence” regarding the presence of terrorists.

“After interception, the suspects opened an arbitrary brand on the CTD team. CTD responded with tactical precision and neutralized all three militants on the spot,” the statement reads.

SWAT CTD referred to the eliminated terrorists such as Fitna-Al Khawarij, an expression used by the state to members of the banned TTP, adding that the operation was supported by the local police.

The statement noted that the terrorists had been involved in IED blasts aimed at law enforcement of convoys, armed attacks on police positions and infrastructure and martyrdom for at least three police officers.

Among the killed militants were Ajmal alias Waqas, son of Abdul Ghaffar and resident of Mulkabad, Mingora, noted the statement. He was reportedly wanted in nine terror -related cases and had been involved in the targeted murder of members of the Village Defense Committee (VDC), an attempt at assault on a spokesman and extortion from civilians. A bounty of RS2 million had been placed on him for his catch or elimination.

Another terrorist was identified as Matiullah alias Ishaq/Junaid, son of Ibrat Shah and resident of Dubar, Martung in Shangla District. He was in demand in two cases of terrorism and had been linked to targeted murder of individuals who helped the law enforcement authorities.

The third killed terrorist was identified as Rahimullah Rahmani alias Roohullah, son of Amanullah and resident of Shirey, Nuristan, Afghanistan. He was in demand in two terror -related cases and had been involved in targeted killings and relief of terrorist activities.

“Intelligence reports further confirm that the cell operated under the leadership of foreign-based, foreign-financed managers with active plans to escalate attacks on security forces, public infrastructure and pro-state individuals,” the CTD declaration reads.

It added that the operation stood as a testimony to the inauguration, precision and coordination between the Agency for SWAT CTD and the District Police, which remained obliged to protect the regional peace and eliminate the threat of military.

North Waziristan

Two terrorists were allegedly killed and several others were caused by injuries during a joint operation performed by police and security forces in Shiwa Tehsil in North Waziristan.

The operation took place within Chowk Police Posts Jurisdiction.

Hangu

Meanwhile, an important terror was suspected involved in the attack on the Hangu District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Khalid Khan killed in a follow -up operation.

The operation was performed by the HANGU police late Friday night.

According to official sources, the intelligence-based operation was launched in the Naryab area within the DOABA police station’s jurisdiction.

Tank

A wounded terrorist belonging to a forbidden clothing surrendered to the security forces in the Tank District. The suspect had allegedly been involved in anti-state activities.
