Tiger Woods has undergone an operation after suffering another major injury.
Woods, 49, announced on Saturday that he recently underwent lumbar disk replacement surgery for a collapsed disk and a compromised spinal cord.
“After experiencing pain and lack of mobility in the back, I consulted doctors and surgeons to get tested. The scans decided that I had a collapsed disk in L4/5, disc fragments and a compromised spinal cord,” Woods said in a statement.

“I chose to have my disk replaced yesterday and I already know that I made a good decision for my health and my back.”
For Woods, it is just the latest health setback in what has been a number of devastating injuries and subsequent procedures in recent years.
Woods underwent an operation to fix a nerve implementation in the crucifix in September, and he has already been sidelined from the PGA tour this year while recovering from a broken Achilles -Ssen he suffered in March.

Since the end tied to the ninth by the 2020 Farmers Insurance Open, his best finish in his subsequent 18 official events has been tied to 37. At 2020 pga the championship.
Last year he competed in only five events, one of which was Genesis Invitational, the other four majors. He retired from Genesis, ended dead at the end of the masters and missed the cut in the last three majors.
It came after he only competed in Genesis and Masters in 2023, when he finished tied up in 45 respectively. In 2022 he played in Masters (47.), PGA Championship (withdrew) and the Open Championship (unanswered cut).
Just when it looked like Woods turned the clock back, it seemed like all false hope. In 2018, he finished second in the FedEx Cup position. In 2019 he won the masters.
Since then, it has been a tough stretch for Woods, which in 14 majors has since won the green jacket in 2019 has failed to assemble a top 20 finish. It is his longest such strip since he was not in the top 20 in the first six majors in his careers in 1995 and 1996. In his last 26 majors he has only four top 20 finishes.

After the US Open, Woods, who turns 50 in December, admitted to “maybe or maybe not” has been his last. His latest injury raises more questions about his future.
