Champagne flowed in the Boston Red Sox Clubhouse on Friday as the team celebrated itching an playoffs.
On Saturday night, Detroit Tigers had their chance to bowl.
Despite the absence of Alex Bregman, Jarren Duran and Trevor Story from Saturday’s lineup, the Tigers still managed to hold a 2-1 win over Red Sox in Fenway Park. The victory won Detroit a playoff -quay and moved the tigers to the top of the central position.

Jahmai Jones was responsible for both Tigers races on Sunday. He hit a two-run single in the fifth lap.
The Tigers went into Saturday night MLB action with only one half-game lead over Cleveland Guardians. Detroit ends the regular season on Sunday as they play the last game in a three-game series with Red Sox.

A Detroit victory combined with a Guardians defeat in one of their last two matches would give the tigers all central Crown.

Detroit fell 12 out of 14 games, which forced them to a tie with Guardians. If all central race ends in a draw, Cleveland has tiebreaker advantage.
