- Tineco Floor One S9 scientist is a new wet-dry vacuum
- Magnetic flap in front of the floor head acts as a squegeee to remove excess water
- Also have a cool pixel screen in retro style
I saw a number of wet-and-dry vacuum at IFA 2025, but one that stood from a design perspective is Tineco’s new floor an S9 scientist.
We are fans of this interval – another Tineco model sits on No. 1 – the site of our Roundup of the best wet and dry vacuum on the market – and this new addition boasts a particularly cool design and some very useful features.
The floor head has a flap that runs along the front edge. It contains magnets, which means that when pushed forward, it lifts up to allow any waste to feed into the roll. When the machine is pulled backwards, it falls down and acts like a squeegee and dries excess water away-tinesco’s line is that it leaves surfaces ‘barefoot ready’ almost immediately after cleaning. It is a simple but very smart addition, which ensures that your hard floor gets a thorough clean without ending up too wet or smooth.
For hard or dried spots, you can also activate the ‘Hydroburst’ feature, where the S9 shoots a high pressure jet of water from the front of the floor head in the problem area, ready to be rolled over and tricked away.
Other useful features include a built-in gyroscope that acts as a car difference, adjustment of individual wheel speed for smooth turns with minimal insert, automatic suction and water level adjustment, an impressive 60-minute runtime and ultra-stopped-cleaning state.
But what really stood out to me when I saw the S9 scientist personally was the ‘cyberpunk’ design.
It is difficult to make a wet floor cleaner look cool, but I think Tineco has managed this. There is a retro-style screen on the front that uses chunky pixels to convey key information — a color-changing ring to indicate when the S9 has detected dirt on the floor, a battery icon to show that it is charging, and so on.
Tineco Floor One S9 scientist will be sold later this year in the US with a list price of $ 799 (TBC). It is also expected to be available in the UK and Australia early next year, but I have no expected prices for these countries. It sits next to the S9 artist Steam, a sister model with a curved, less retro design and steam function.
