Samsung’s mega Galaxy Z TriFold smartphone was a landmark device, but after just three months since its release, the tech giant is discontinuing it, and today is the last chance you’ll have to buy if you missed it the first time.
Today, Samsung will be restocking its online store with its final batch of Galaxy Z TriFold devices in the US after ending sales in South Korea following its last inventory last month. It’s likely that this revamp is Samsung’s opportunity to flog the last of its remaining tri-folding smartphones, but these will sell out quickly.
Although the rather expensive production costs are one of the main factors for the discontinuation, Samsung never intended to launch the Galaxy Z TriFold as a permanent unit in its line of Galaxy smartphones. When the company first listed the smartphone for sale, it was limited to customers in the US and South Korea, with the first two allocations being just 3,000 units each – limiting availability significantly.

That said, Samsung shared a statement with us last month saying “Galaxy Z TriFold was introduced as a super-premium device in limited quantities. In Korea, the strong consumer response led to all available units being sold out. Customers in other countries still have the opportunity to purchase the device”.
With the final rebuild approaching, this is your last chance to get your hands on one of the most coveted gadgets in recent years. But be warned, this will sell like hotcakes, so it’s best to get a game plan together to get ahead of other determined customers in line.
This is how you can increase your odds
As shared by u/ELITEtvGAMER on Reddit, there are a few points to note.
First, you’ll want to set up a Samsung store account before the sale—there’s nothing worse than being asked to log in or create an account during the most crucial steps at checkout. And the same applies to payment methods.
If you are asked to enter payment information while checking out, there is a chance that the Galaxy Z TriFold may be removed from your cart during this time, as simply adding it to your cart does not guarantee purchase. This is different from sites like Ticketmaster that reserve your chosen tickets in your basket with a countdown.
Not sure how to add your card details? You can try adding an item to your cart (preferably something cheap in case you accidentally process the payment) and go through checkout to save your information the way the Reddit user suggests.
After logging in and saving your payment information in advance, the next thing you can do to ensure a smooth experience is to familiarize yourself with Samsung’s online store and payment process. That way, you’ll know how many steps to follow and how fast to act to make sure you bag the Galaxy Z TriFold before it sells out.
