Scottie Scheffler turned heads earlier this month when he revealed that being the best golfer in the world is not what “satisfies” him.
Ironically, these comments came just days before winning the open championship, his fourth major. But he meant it from a good place and said he very much prefers to be a better man and father than a golfer.

However, the comments caught the wind from Tom Brady, the seven-time Super Bowl winner, and he revealed his thoughts of separating the personal and working life (this task seemed impossible to him in his last years, when he later got a highly published divorce during the 2023 season).
“As part of his answer on media day, for example, Scottie said he would rather be a better father and man than a good golfer. And my question is: Why are they mutually exclusive? Sure they are different blocks on the pyramid, but they are part of the same pyramid. They are connected!” Brady wrote in his newsletter via Yahoo Sports.
Brady added that Scheffler could parlay his golf to “be a great father.”

“Remember that your kids see everything. They see what you do in all aspects of your life and how you do it. Scheffler said that if “golf ever began to affect my home life” he would finish playing “to live.”
