Legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady’s CardVault store in New York City was robbed of nearly $10,000 worth of trading cards last month.
The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in identifying a person wanted in connection with a major incident that occurred at Tom Brady’s CardVault in SoHo on Oct. 20 shortly before 8 p.m.
Authorities say the suspect attempted to use a credit card to pay for merchandise, but when the transaction was declined, video surveillance showed the suspect began entering manual prompts into the contactless payment terminal without the employee’s knowledge to bypass the declined transaction.

“We’re seeing a lot of customers find interest in our individual cards or single cards,” Costa told PIX11. “I think Pokémon in general is just a very popular category across a very broad demographic.”
Costa added that there is a way to track cards when they leave the store because “they are unique or serialized.”
CardVault has its own team dedicated to loss prevention that works with the NYPD.
