- US sensor manufacturer Sensata confirms he has a ransomware -attack

Sensata, a major American sensor manufacturer, suffered a ransomware attack that curled parts of its operations.
In a new 8-k form that was submitted to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) earlier this week, Sensata said it experienced a “ransomware event that has encrypted certain devices” in its network.
The attack “affected” Temporarily Company Operation, Filing Further States, including Shipping, Reception, Production of Production and “Various Other Support Features.”
Hours to attack
After seeing the penetration, the company activated its response protocols, which include taking parts of its network’s offline, bringing in third -party forensic experts and informing the relevant authorities. Sensata said it is currently investigating the attack and that it has no timeline for when it may resume operations as usual.
The company also said it lost some files in the attack, but did not detail which one and what was on them.
“The company is working to identify and review the files involved and will take additional actions as relevant based on its review, including notifying individuals and regulatory authorities in accordance with applicable law,” the archiving said.
Sensata also said that it did not expect the incident to have a significant impact on its financial results and operations in the three months ended on June 30, 2025, “however, the full extent and influence of this incident is not yet known and can result in a future decision that the incident will be essential for the company’s accounts and operating results.”
At this point, no threat actors have assumed responsibility for the attack, but it may be the case that Sensata’s name is emerging on a data leakage site, as it is also part of the press tactics used by hackers to make the victim to pay Ransom -the demand.
