Traffic Discharge continues with Karachi rolling from rain demand

Traffic derivations continued over Karachi on Wednesday, when Metropolis rolled from the wake of record monkey rain yesterday, which claimed at least eight lives, left several neighborhoods flooded, disturbed power supply and damaged roads.

Residents of a building in Gulistan-E-Jauhar-Block 18 were caught in their apartments due to rainwater accumulation and used provisional stairs to leave the premises.

The city’s officials said drainage operations were underway, but warned that deviations and closures would continue in low -lying areas until flooding water withdrew and damaged roads were repaired.

Holiday

Sindh Minister of Chief Murad Ali Shah announced a holiday in Karachi until Wednesday, August 20, when the city fought with heavy rain and widespread disturbance.

The Minister of Ministry urged citizens to remain indoors and noted that several precipitation was predicted and that the holidays were aimed at sparing the residents further difficulties.

According to an official review issued by the Commissioner’s Office, the Sindh government declared August 20 a holiday in the Karachi division, excluding important services due to continuous monsoon rain and Pakistan Meteorological Department’s advice on further widespread showers.
