Traffic police turn the blind eye to minor cyclists

Hyderabad:

An increasing number of minor cyclists are seen fearlessly to adhere to the roads where neither traffic nor district police take any action against them.

These cyclists ride motorcycles at high speeds day and night in different parts of the city including Qasimabad and Hala Naka. In addition to reckless speed, they can also be seen to perform different stunts, which often causes their vehicles to slip. Rash bikes pose risks to other motorcyclists, car drivers and pedestrians as well.

In Hyderabad, traffic police and staff are deployed for limited periods in markets and overloaded areas and perform their tasks with reluctance. In overloaded areas of the city, the traffic police do not take any action against these minor cyclists, but at the city’s entrance and starting points, the Arrial Police’s constables are seen to be quite vigilant.

During the three days of Eid and Thursday night, traffic remained heavy on the roads, but no traffic police officers were visible in any place, nor did the district police take any action against fast minor cyclists. As a result, an increasing number of those who sneaked out of their homes at night were found and riding motorcycles at extremely high speeds.

The cyclists are so young that they do not even have identity cards, nor have they necessary documents for their motorcycles. They take their family’s motorcycles and run with them with their friends and have no knowledge of once a single traffic rule. The becoming traffic and district police have given these young cyclists the freedom to ride motorcycles on roads with impunity.
