The train that left Quetta at. 9:30, came under fire from unknown armed individuals as it passed through the Gadalar and Piro Kanri areas. The driver of the train was seriously injured in the attack and later succumbed to his wounds.

Security sources report that surgery against terrorists is going on, with suicide bombs that use women and children as human shields. These bombers have taken women and children hostage in three different places.

Due to the presence of women and children with the suicide bombs, the operation is performed with extreme caution.

Leaders condemn assault on train passengers

The country’s leadership, including President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, on Tuesday condemned the terrorist attack on Jaffar Express in Balochistan and appreciated the security forces for their effective and timely reaction.

The president paid tribute to the value of security forces for saving passengers in Jaffar Express and said attacks on innocent civilians and passengers were inhuman and condemnable actions. The president said that neither religion nor a society allowed such disgusting acts.

Prime Minister Shehbaz said, according to a separate press release issued from the Prime Minister’s office wing, that security forces’ officers and staff eliminated terrorists bravely during the ongoing reaction.

“Despite a difficult terrain, the morals of the security force are high and they push the cowardly terrorists back with their timely action,” Shehbaz said.
