Unlike bounded parties or people who have to bend in red biohazard bags on their four-day trip to Mexico, Balloon boy is a cardiac -stopping drama from beginning to end. Given the nickname of the press, Balloon Boy actually refers to a six -year -old Falcon who was allegedly caught in a homemade gas balloon that looks like a flying plate when it was released over Fort Collins, Colorado. Parents Richard and Mayumi Heene told the authorities while the balloon was on his 90-minute flight and reached heights of 7,000 feet.
When someone could get to the balloon, it had landed a few miles away from Denver International Airport and there was no Falcon to see. When the balloon was tracked in the air, an object allegedly fell during its flight, which got everyone who watched the worst. A search was quickly underway with international media flowing to cover the alleged tragedy.
Here’s Twist – Falcon was never in the balloon at all. Instead, he had been hiding in the attic of the family’s house all the time and revealed under a Larry King Live Interview, as his parents had told him they had done it “for show”. News of advertising stunt soon became viral, with local Lensmann, confirming that the heals would be exposed to crimes for Hoax. Richard Heene pleaded not guilty to having tried to influence a public employee and was sentenced to 90 days in prison and ordered to pay $ 36,000 in refund, with Mayumi Heene sentenced to 20 days in prison.
So why do we need to watch the Netflix series if the story was so well reported at the time? For a reason: Balloon boy Is the first time we get a deep look at the full story from the family’s point of view. We get sit-down interviews with them all, including the now adult Falcon, who still seems to be glad he was once at the center of a national news storm as a little boy.
Was it all an intention ploy, or did a family just get joke out of hand? Based on the news reports you can argue both ways, but I can’t wait to get the interior story right from the source. If you are wondering what to stream this week, do it as it has the potential to be one of the best Netflix shows.
