A school board in Washington State has filed a complaint asking for the intervention of the federal government to force the state to ban trans athletes from girls’ sports.
Kennewick School Board filed a title IX complaint to the US Ministry of Education’s Office for Civil Rights against Washington State’s Superintendent of Public Instruction Chris Reydkal this week. The complaint includes a plea of ”urgent” federal intervention against the state’s ongoing policy, which defies President Donald Trump’s recent “Keeping but out of women’s sports” executive order.
“We are requesting urgent federal intervention due to open and irregular violation of title IX, which is currently occurring within the state’s students athletics as well as necessary school district policies required by the state that is in direct violation of title IX,” the complaint states.

“We are particularly concerned about the open discriminatory policies and mandates from the state of Washington, state superintendent Reykdal, OSPI and WIAA not only directly harm our young women, but also bring our district’s essential federal funding, whose loss would have a major impact on our most poor and in risk.”
The school board is currently trapped in a conflict with directives, as Trump’s administration has ordered all public schools to ban trans athletes from girls’ sports or risk losing federal funding, but Washington’s state government has ordered schools to continue to allow Trans -Including.
“This state limited limitation erodes the confidence between schools and families and unreasonably violates the parents’ precious basic right to lead their children’s development,” the complaint continues.
“Our school board addressed this by truly trying to find an intermediary between the statesmate and the parent’s fundamental role. We did so with small changes to the state mandate policy that should not offend any reasonable person. Nevertheless, OSPI has taken the opinion that our easy changes are insulting the law (as OSPI has interpreted it) and seems to have implemented the state superitent Chris Reykdal and OSPI.”
Reydkal previously claimed it was “inaccurate” to say that there are only two genders under a video address at the end of February.

“It is simply inaccurate to say biologically that there are only boys and that there are only girls,” said Reykdal. “There is a continuum. There is a science for this. There are children who are Born Intersex. There are children whose hormones and if chromosomes are not in accordance with their gender at birth.
“Our state laws make it clear that children must identify and participate on the basis of the gender they identify. We will maintain this law.”
Reykdal also insisted at this address that Trump has no authority as president to issue a ban on trans athletes in girls sports, but admitted to the US Congress.
Another school district in Washington chose to take the cases into his own hands and defy the state government at the end of February.
The Tumwater School District’s The board voted 3-1 on February 27 to ban Trans athletes from playing for girls’ sports team after a Nationaly-Published controversy involving one of its school girls basketball teams.
The complaint claimed that Tumwater School District In Washington Is currently investigating the 15-year-old Frances Staudt to “mislead” the opponent and violate the district’s policy against bullying and harassment on February 7.
The question of trans -cluttering became so worrying about Washginton residents that in December WIAA announced a proposal to create a separate open department for transking athletes to compete in.
This proposal came weeks after the Central Valley School Board that oversees schools in Spokane Valley and Liberty Lake, Washingtonvoted to send a message to the Washington Interscholastic Activity Association (WIAA) about the questions after much debate at a school board meeting.
